Sandy is ready to pounce on the East Coast and provide flooding and destruction like we’ve never even seen before, and thanks to Instagram, the entire world can see what it’s like to experience Sandy’s power. If you live in one of the areas that will be affected by Sandy, check out our guide of Sandy survival apps. If you don’t live on the East Coast then we’ve made this gallery so you can see the amounts of damage Sandy is causing.
We’ll be updating this gallery throughout the day as Sandy makes her way closer to NYC, so be sure to come back throughout the day and see even more of the best Instagram photos of the Frankenstorm.

I’m pretty sure the Statue of Liberty pic is fake.
What is causing all the visual noise and color distortions? Did these people break their cameras?
@ethicsblogger it is. we’ve deleted it and a few others that we also found out were not from today’s Sandy damage
You mean the one with the 3 soldiers? Dummy, that’s not the Statue of Liberty, that’s the Tomb of the Unknown Solider. The marines are there marching in rain, snow, hailstorm, or hurricane.
Woahhh. These are pretty cool. LOL Instacane.
