Apple Music is now available on recent versions of Microsoft’s Xbox gaming console. That includes playing songs while gaming.
The streaming music service is already available on PlayStation and other third-party entertainment platforms.
Xbox + Apple Music = ❤️
Some games have amazing music, but lots of them don’t. And even the best game music can get irritating – no matter how much you love the Harry Potter theme song, listening to it for 2 or 3 hours gets tiresome.
Apple Music is here to help. A post on Reddit points out that Apple’s streaming service just launched on Xbox. And a follow up comment says, “You can listen while playing games too, amazing.”
It is available for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One. On Series X or S, press the Xbox button then look for the app in Store > Apps. On Xbox One, scan all the way to the right on the Dashboard until you find Apps.
Been a long time coming
PlayStation fans are probably chuckling because Apple Music hit PlayStation 5 almost exactly a year ago. But the service is late to all consoles. It launched way back in 2015 and is only now debuting on computers millions of people keep in their living rooms.
Still, it’s available on many other types of devices, like Roku and Amazon Fire.
A subscription to Apple Music costs $9.99 per month in the United States. Unlike rival services, there’s no free-with-ads version.
