Will you get your Apple Watch by Friday? Photo: Leander Kahney/Cult of Mac

Were you hoping to get your Apple Watch preorder on Friday? We were, but based on the shipment status of our orders here at Cult of Mac HQ, all our watches are still stuck at “Preparing for Shipment” despite the fact we’ve already been charged for the orders.

We asked Apple fans this morning if they’re starting to worry that their preorders might not arrive as quickly as expected and the responses bordered closer to panic than simply worried.

If you’re anything like us, you’ve probably been checking your order status every few hours, and according to other buyers, we’re not alone.

Apple could surprise us by waiting to send out shipment notifications until tomorrow (it’s happened before), but at this point, many Apple fans are starting to freak out that they won’t be able to shackle themselves to Jony Ive’s timepiece for a few more days, or even weeks.

….my day has gone to waste. Fixing domain controller and hitting command+r every 15 seconds. I need help.

In the past Apple did a really great job getting these things to our doors on day 1. Sure UPS mostly didn’t knock and forced many of us to drive to the UPS office at 7:00 pm, but the point is that we got our Apple thingy one day 1. People need to be given a DATE not a range this late in the game. There’s a feeling you get of excitement that I believe they’re dropping the ball on by taking this approach. I don’t believe that I’m alone with this opinion.

“Sure UPS mostly didn’t knock and forced many of us to drive to the UPS office at 7:00 pm.” – this happens to me every time Apple ships me something.

I have a tracking number and shipment delivery date of 4/24/15 from UPS. I think I am ok.

  4. Mine still says processing, which is probably where it will stay for another month…

My delivery estimate for my Apple Watch Sport is 4/24-5/8, but I’m still at “processing order”…anyone else in this boat? I’m kinda freaking out

My card has been charged and I have been in “Preparing for Shipment” for a couple of days now but no tracking number. I’d like to think if they charged me then it is getting ready to go out. Pipe dream perhaps?

My 42mm SS w/ white band that was listed May 14-27 delivery just went into ‘preparing for shipment’ status a couple hours ago.

  8. Christopher Morris says:

Based on previous experience, I have had Apple orders say preparing for shipment for days and then, all of sudden, be in Nashville on a plane to be delivered the following day. Apple does this constantly, it’s called under promising and over delivering…

  9. Mitch Rogoff says:

mine says 4/24-5/8 but it still says processing items

mine sais that its coming 4/24-5/ 8 but still says processing items

Just was charged by Apple — 4:32 pm Central on 4/22 — I ordered 42 mm space gray sport and got confirmation email at 12:03 Pacific on 4/10. (Apple web site still says Processing Items, though — still, a sign of progress!)

    • Dan L says:

Status just changed to Preparing for Shipment!

    • Oldmoldy-one says:

I ordered for my wife and I via Apple Store app on two devices simultaneously. Confirmation emails were at 12:02 (38mm space gray sport) and 12:04 (42mm space gray sport) Pacific. Haven’t been charged, status hasn’t changed, called apple as I’m traveling (Travel Plans made before 4/24 date) this weekend and didn’t want to miss delivery. Was told I can likely expect mine tues/wed of next week as they don’t deliver on weekends and Friday very likely wasn’t going to happen for us. Can you hear the air going out of the balloon?…

  12. Mrs. Peacock says:

Mine is prepared for shipment. I live on east coast and haven’t got anything from UPS like some have.

  13. Dusty says:

I have been checking like every 10 min….mine is still showing processing!

  14. John Schult says:

Strangely I got an email from Apple saying that “we’re working on your order”. Ordered a 42mm Space Gray Sport at 12:03. No charge yet no status update.

  15. Yvonne Favela says:

Thanks it worked. Getting mine this friday. I can sleep now :)

  16. Just checked and have my tracking # with 38mm White Sport band watch coming from Harrisburg, PA and delivery window of 2:45pm -6:45pm. Original window was 4/24 – 5/8 for this item. Ordered at 3:03 am. Black 38mm Sport band ordered at 3:12 am still showing as processing and delivery 5/13 – 5/27.

  17. Kelly Landry says:

I completed my order @ x:06. Still says processing! Wtf. Not cool apple. Not cool.

  18. SonicAlligator says:

Ordered my space gray sport at 12:01am and mine said “In Process” until yesterday. Then in the evening it changed to “Preparing for Shipment” and at 12:30am this morning I got a UPS notice that it’ll be delivered tomorrow. I think their notifications are just last minute this go-round.

  19. Christian Guerrero says:

My still says processing…I have a delivery date range of 4/24-5/8. I ordered the stainless steel apple watch with the black sport band. I’m freaking out because I was really hoping it would be here by tomorrow. Lost hope. My friend ordered at the same time, and she has a tracking number already.
