The 2019 Mac Pro is famously assembled in the United States. Apple CEO Tim Cook took President Trump on a tour of the plant in Texas where these powerful computers are put together.
But the situation is reportedly quite different if you place an order in Europe.
The 2019 Mac Pro: It’s a powerhouse workstation that looks like a cheese grater. And it’s the most upgradeable Apple computer in years. But you’ll pay for all that computing muscle: It starts at $5,999 and pairs with a Pro Display XDR, which starts at $4,999. Maxed-out, this monster costs an eye-watering $53,000. Even adding wheels costs $400. Still, it’s not the most expensive Mac ever — not by a long shot!

You will soon have something to show for that $5,999+ you just handed over to Apple. The first Mac Pro orders have today started shipping out to customers. Deliveries are scheduled to begin this Friday, December 13.
If you want to add four wheels to your already-expensive Mac Pro, then they’ll cost you almost $100 apiece. Not that you can even buy them separately. You have to specify the $400 option when you buy. The wheels are a part of the Mac Pro’s steel frame, so there’s no way to add them after purchase.
Or is there? We found five good options to let you wheel your Mac Pro around the office, or to perhaps grab the power cable and take the new computer out for a walk like a dog. Or even to sit on the thing and take it for a spin, go-kart-style, down the nearest hill.
Apple’s all-new Mac Pro is finally ready to order … and it ain’t cheap. But Cult of Mac can help make yours more affordable by offering you a sweet stack of upgrade cash.
Sell your old Mac to us before you upgrade and we’ll give you a great price. We will also make the whole process quick and simple — and we’ll cough up real cash you can spend anywhere you like.
The 2019 Mac Pro is the most customizable Apple computer we’ve seen in years. You can swap and upgrade almost every component — including its GPUs, memory, and more.
But you must do it properly. Apple’s new how-to videos take you through the upgrade process step-by-step to help ensure nothing goes wrong. And they make it look so simple.
Whether it’s designing its own pizza box or custom, err, sheets of paper, Apple sure likes having its own proprietary version of things it doesn’t deem quite good enough.
The same is true of the new Pro Display XDR with nano-texture glass for the Mac Pro. No, we’re not talking about the screen itself; but rather Apple’s insistence that you clean it using a special Apple-approved cleaning cloth. But there’s a good reason for it.
A black-and-silver Magic Keyboard, Mouse 2 and Trackpad 2 debuted in Apple’s product lineup today, but only a fortunate few can order them. As it stands now, these accessories are only available for people who also buy a 2019 Mac Pro.
But that’s likely to change soon.
The 2019 Mac Pro is finally available to order, with prices starting at $5,999. That’s not cheap … until you compare it to the cost of a maxed-out model with all the bells and whistles.
Add every available upgrade and Apple’s newest machine suddenly skyrockets to an eye-watering $52,748.
That’s $12,848 more than a Tesla Cybertruck!
Want an all-new Mac Pro you can ride home from the Apple Store? That will be an extra $400, please. That’s how much it will cost you to add four wheels to your new machine.
The wait for the most powerful — and the most expensive — macOS computer ever just ended. Apple began taking orders for the 2019 Mac Pro this morning, after announcing the workstation that boasts a 28-core processor way back in June.
The companion 32-inch Pro Display XDR went up for sale today, too, also at a price that only professionals can afford.
Apple Card customers can enjoy 6% daily cash back on Apple purchases over the holidays.
Apple’s newest promotion arrives just in time for the all-new Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR, which go on sale today. But it applies to any Apple Store purchases — online and in-store — made through December 31.
Not every model of the uber-powerful new Mac Pro will sit under someone’s desk. The appearance of the “cheese grater” Mac attracted so much attention that people might want to see what the version designed for rack-mounting looks like.
Six months after unveiling its new Mac Pro, Apple has finally revealed exactly when customers can order the new pro-grade Mac and Pro Display XDR: Tomorrow.
Over the weekend, Apple sent out emails to customers who had requested details on the new computer. Noting that “the wait is almost over,” the message revealed an order date of Tuesday, December 10.

Apple today confirmed it has started construction on a new $1 billion campus in Austin, Texas, that will open in 2022. The facility will initially house 5,000 people, but it has the capacity to grow to 15,000.
It’s part of a broader plan to expand Apple’s prescence in the city, where it has already started producing the all-new Mac Pro.
The White House has confirmed that President Donald Trump will visit Apple’s Mac Pro factory in Austin, Texas, this Wednesday.
While the Mac Pro is only a bit player in Apple’s overall revenue and profit strategy, its “made in Texas” status reflects Apple’s desire to invest in the United States. Since Trump took office, Apple has expanded its “job footprint” to 2.4 million people in the United States.
After unveiling it back in June, Apple today bumped back the launch date for the 2019 Mac Pro. This powerful pro-grade product will be available, alongside the high-end Pro Display XDR screen, sometime in December. Previously, it was scheduled to debut in the fall.
The computer boasts a 28-core processor and room for more than a terabyte of RAM. The Mac Pro starts at $5,999, while the Pro Display XDR begins at $4,999. In other words, you’d better hope you’ve got some generous relatives this holidays!

This year’s Final Cut Pro X (FCPX) Creative Summit is right around the corner, and you might just want to keep an eye on it. Its description promises “some surprises from the Apple product team.”
Is it finally time for the all-new Mac Pro to make its debut?
Everyone who was busy ogling the “cheesegrater” design of the 2019 Mac Pro can be forgiven for not paying attention to the keyboard. But Apple is prepping multiple keyboards that match the silver-and-black look of this powerful desktop.
An image of one of these not publicly seen before has come to light.
The FCC just signed off on Apple’s next professional-grade desktop. The 2019 Mac Pro was announced this summer, and this approval clears the way for a release.
