AAPL continues to rise into uncharted territory.

Apple stock has been climbing rapidly towards $700 per share since the iPhone 5 was announced Wednesday, September 12th. Now, less than a week after the announcement from Apple, AAPL has hit $700 in after hours trading, marking an all-time high.

Despite iPhone 5 naysayers, Apple remains the most valuable company in the world by a large margin.

LTE iPhone 5 Will Double iOS Data Consumption Says Analysts

By

iphone5

When the iPhone originally launched in 2007, AT&T was shocked by how much data users consumed and it crippled their networks. Once 3G was added to the iPhone, data consumption predictably increased, but now that we’re on the cusps of seeing an LTE iPhone 5, one analyst firm is predicting the iPhone 5 will double data consumption.

Does This Video Prove Apple Could Sell You Anything?

By

post-191162-image-e61df319e5e64fd7d83cad4e3b630b92-jpg

Jony Ive is always so damn beautiful in every Apple product video. His gorgeous british accent just washes over my eardrums and magically hypnotizes me into buying whatever product Apple is pushing. Like, dude could sell me a mason jar of horse fat mixed with dead butterflies and pig’s blood and as long as Apple made a pretty video explaining why they made it, then I would be all about it.

To prove that point, Buzzfeed FWD mashed up Jony’s latest video with a video on how nasty, filthy, disgusting hot dogs are made. It’s sick and lovely, and pretty much proves that Apple could sell you anything they want and it would sound awesome. Do you agree? Let us hear your thoughts about Apple’s video sorcery in the comments below.

Get This Essential App If You Want to Switch Carriers

By

carriercompare

So, you’re ready to buy the iPhone 5. You’ve waited for months, you have the contract eligibility to upgrade. Hell, you can even switch if you want to. But which carrier is best for you?

Having Apple’s latest and greatest iPhone is worthless if you get yourself locked into a two-year contract with a carrier that doesn’t even provide you with high-quality cellular service at your house or work. Luckily, there’s an essential app and other tools you can use to check who provides the best service for your iPhone.

The Banned iPhone 5 Promo Video Apple Never Released [Video]

By

vid

Every promotional video Apple releases is oozing with ridiculous hype and self-importance. They’re beautiful and annoying at the same time. And as soon as Apple announces a new product you can be sure that 137 different parody videos will hit  YouTube the very next day

Most of the Apple parody videos rehash the same old jokes. Are they still funny anymore? I don’t know. But the guys at JLE have been making Apple parody videos for years now and just released their banned iPhone 5 promo video that is full of laughs. Check it out.

This Chart Shows How Stunning The Number Of iPhone 5 Pre-orders Really Was

By

iphonesales-copy

The iPhone 5 is already Apple’s most successful iPhone ever, in terms of first day sales figures. Apple received 2 million iPhone 5 pre-orders, which is double the number they received for the iPhone 4S.

GigaOM put together a quick chart to show just how stunning the iPhone 5 pre-orders have been. The iPhone 4S was the most successful smartphone ever, and the iPhone 5 is on pace to absolutely blow the iPhone 4S numbers away.

Save $20 On The iPhone 5 Lightning Adapter By Purchasing This Knockoff

By

adapters

Still kind of pissed off that you’re going to have to buy a $29 Lightning adapter so all your accessories can play nice with your iPhone 5? Apple’s not even going to include a free adapter with your iPhone 5, just so you’ll have to pay them more money for more adapters, or so you’ll just switch to AirPlay enabled accessories.

Whatever the reason, the price on Apple’s Lightning adapters is terrible, but thankfully the knock-offs have  arrived before the launch of the iPhone 5 and some of them will even save you $20 per adapter, so you can buy as many as you want for all your toys.

Yes, You Can Cut Your Micro-SIM Down Into A Nano-SIM For Your iPhone 5

By

The nano-SIM isn't just smaller than the micro-SIM — it's also thinner.
The nano-SIM isn't just smaller than the micro-SIM — it's also thinner.

If you’re expecting a new iPhone 5 on Friday, and you’re buying it unlocked directly from Apple, you’re going to need a nano-SIM to go with it. Obtaining one is easy if your carrier is one supporting the new device, because you can just call them up and request one. But what if you’re already stuck in a contract with a carrier that doesn’t provide nano-SIMs yet?

Fortunately for you, scissors, some sandpaper, and a pair of steady hands will allow you to cut down your existing SIM or micro-SIM into a nano-SIM.

iPhone 5 May Not Have A Quad-Core CPU, But It’s One Of The Fastest Smartphones Money Can Buy

By

That's a fast smartphone.
That's a fast smartphone.

When Apple unveiled the iPhone 5 last week, the company promised that its custom A6 chip deliver performance twice as fast as its predecessor, the iPhone 4S. But according to the handset’s first benchmarks, this isn’t just the fastest iPhone yet — it’s also one of the most powerful smartphones money can buy.

Why Waiting In Line For The Latest iPhone Is No Longer Just For Diehard Apple Fans

By

iPhone 5 is selling like hot cakes covered in chocolate sprinkles.
You'll be stuck behind a lot of promoters when you line up for the iPhone 5.

There was a time when waiting in line for Apple’s latest iPhone meant you were a diehard fan who could think of nothing worse than not getting the device on launch day. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case: Lines have already started forming for the iPhone 5 outside of Apple’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York City, but the first two people in the queue are not diehard Apple fans.

Instead, they are there simply to promote their own products or services.

If Apple Made Nasty Attack Ads As Badly As Samsung, They’d Look Like This [Humor]

By

LTUb5

Remember Samsung’s dishonest, offensive “It Doesn’t Take A Genius” ad that, as my colleague Alex heath wonderfully put it, tried to proclaim the Samsung Galaxy SIII to be a better handset than the iPhone 5 by making its “contrived spec list” longer?

Well, two can play at that game. If you’re going to selectively leave features off of one phone to make yours look like you can do more at it, well, we’re only a quick Photoshop away from turning the tables.

As a final note, I love what this ad says about Samsung. They still just don’t get it: they’re still playing the spec game when Apple has built its billions upon the true fact that no one gives a shit about specs anymore. The proof is in the experience.

Apple Confirms iPhone 5 Pre-Orders Top Two Million In First 24 Hours

By

Who said this was a
Who said this was a "disappointment?"

Apple has issued a press release this morning confirming that iPhone 5 pre-orders topped two million units during its first 24 hours of availability. That’s more than double the record held by the handset’s predecessor, the iPhone 4S, and Apple has warned that while the majority of pre-orders will be delivered on launch day, September 21, “many” are scheduled to be delivered in October.

iPhone 5 Pre-Orders Break AT&T Sales Record Making It The Fastest-Selling iPhone Ever

By

The iPhone 5 is going to be huge.
The iPhone 5 is going to be huge.

With Apple’s initial iPhone 5 pre-order stock gone within just one hour on Friday, we knew the company’s sixth-generation smartphone was going to be huge. Even Apple itself has said that it has been “blown away” by the demand. It’s little surprise to hear that the iPhone 5 has broken AT&T’s sale record, then, making it the fastest-selling iPhone the company has ever sold.

Take a Look at How the iPhone’s Profile Has Evolved

By

incase-slider-evolution

Veteran iPhone case-maker Incase sent us this image of all four iPhone forms in profile — each covered by a version of their Slider cases, which, as Incase says, has been available since the introduction of the iPhone in 2007. We thought we’d share it; simple, yet fascinating, isn’t it. The pace of change has slowed somewhat of late. At least, cosmetically anyway.

Oh, right — the Slider; you can pre-order your $35 iPhone 5 Slider case now, and Incase will ship one to you when they become available in October.

These Are The Complete Blueprints For The iPhone 5 [Image]

By

iphone5blueprints

The only people that really need to know all of the iPhone 5’s dimensions down to the nearest hundredth of a millimeter are case manufacturers, and rabid fanboys that can’t devour enough Apple knowledge. Apple posted the blueprints for the iPhone 5 in the developer center, but for some reason they can be accessed by anyone even if you don’t have an account.

The full high-res blueprints show crazy small details, like the degree of the proximity cone for the camera, and the difference in thickness between the antenna band and the display screen. It’s everything you’d need to know to make your own iPhone 5 case. To access the entire high-res blueprint PDF you can click here.

Apple Says It’s “Blown Away By Customer Response” To The iPhone 5

By

According to the first day of preorders, the iPhone 5 is anything but disappointing.
According to the first day of preorders, the iPhone 5 is anything but disappointing.

Shipping estimates for iPhone 5 preorders slipped to 2-3 weeks only a few short hours after they were made available this morning, and initial stock continues to dwindle as the day wears on. Apple is expected to shatter the previous preorder sales record it set with the iPhone 4S, and demand for a new iPhone has never been higher.

Although specific preorder sales numbers have not yet been released, Apple has said that it’s “blown away” by how well the iPhone 5 has done so far.

T-Mobile Will Have iPhone 5 Nano-SIMs From Mid-October

By

whuh

Looks like T-Mobile’s serious about getting you to come to their network with your unlocked iPhone 5, even if they still don’t have a deal in place to sell them directly. What you see here is that T-Mobile is already ordering nano-SIMs, and you’ll be able to slap them into an unlocked iPhone 5 starting in mid-October. You won’t get LTE, of course, but if that doesn’t matter to you, you might save a few bucks.

Here’s a chart with the full price breakdown of each component:

Why The iPhone 5 Will Be My First iPhone [Opinion]

By

1347632091.jpg

The iPhone 5 will probably be my first iPhone. Up until now, I have gotten by with a combination of dumb phones (and recently something even worse), an iPod Touch and an iPad. I have also tossed a camera into my bag more often than not upon leaving the house. Why? Because I almost never never make phone calls. Because I don’t want to sign a cellphone contract. And because my other gadgets do the job just fine. So why am I buying an iPhone now, after five years of holding out?

iPhone Trade-in Prices Have Started To Drop After iPhone 5 Announcement

By

iphone4s

If you didn’t sell your iPhone 4/4S before the announcement of the iPhone 5, you’d better do it soon before its value drops considerably. Reports have already come in that iPhone trade-in prices have started to drop on most major iPhone trade-in sites.

In the two days since Apple announced the iPhone 5, values on used iPhones have already dropped as much as 8%. Once the iPhone 5 hits shelves next week, values are expected to drop even faster.

Will The iPhone 5 Bring An End To Slippery iPhones?

By

Slip resistant?
Slip resistant?

Since the iPhone 3G, Apple’s smartphone has suffered from one annoying little problem: it’s too slippery. Place it down on the arm of your couch, on the dash of your car, or on any other surface that isn’t perfectly flat and you can almost guarantee that your iPhone will be face-down on the floor within about 20 seconds.

This wasn’t such a problem with the original iPhone, because it had a matte aluminum back. So, will the iPhone 5 spell the end of slippery iPhones?

Apple Confirms Lightning Cables For HDMI, VGA Are Coming Soon

By

These won't work with your iPhone 5.
These won't work with your iPhone 5.

With the 30-pin dock connector on the brink of extinction, you’re probably wandering how you’re going to hook your iOS devices up to your TV without the help of an Apple TV. Your old HDMI and VGA adapters won’t work, and Apple didn’t announce any new ones at its iPhone 5 event. So does that mean AirPlay is the only option?

Thankfully, it does not. Apple has confirmed that Lightning-compatible HDMI and VGA adapters will be arriving for your new iOS devices “in the coming months.”
