The SwitchEasy Origami Protective Case folds into three different styles of iPad stand, giving you a range of options for typing, reading and browsing.
I tested this clever folio case with my own iPad. There’s plenty to like here. (Update: The case is currently on sale at 30% off in the Cult of Mac Store.)

The Moft Snap Float Folio can be folded into a stand that holds an iPad screen 4 inches above your desk. Photo: Ed Hardy/Cult of Mac
iPad cases that act as stands to prop up the tablet’s screen are old news. But the Moft Snap Float Folio takes the concept to a new level… literally. It can be folded to raise the iPad up to 3.8 inches so it’s easier to see. If that’s not enough, the case/stand also folds into multiple other configurations to allow the iPad to be used in different ways.
The product first launched in 2022, then recently updated it with stronger magnets for a better hold on the tablet. It’s also a bit more robust.
I wrapped my iPad Pro in the Moft’s new-and-improved case to see how easy it is to use, and how stable when used as a stand. I came away impressed.

With the Pitaka MagEZ Case Pro, you can stop plugging in a charging cable. Put the tablet in this slim, lightweight case then pop on a charging mat when it’s time to juice up the tablet.
Combine it with the MagEZ Charging Stand and you have a desktop setup without the hassle of wires for the iPad Pro and an iPhone or AirPods.
I tested both accessories in my home office. There’s a lot to like here.
The ESR Shift Magnetic Case offers some useful tricks. Photo: ESR
The ESR Shift Magnetic Case sets itself apart from the competition with a removable cover/stand that allows the tablet to be used in landscape or portrait mode. Even better, the tablet can slide up in the stand to be closer to eye level.

Maybe unicorns really are real -- at least when it comes to Zugu iPad cases, which are so good they're almost magical. Photo: Zugu Case

The only iPad case we’ve found that comes close to fitting that description is Zugu Case. It’s just right in so many ways, no matter which iPad you have. That’s what makes Zugu the unicorn of iPad cases.

It looks like a nice iPad 10 accessory, but it's not cheap. Photo: Apple
Along with the redesigned 10th-gen iPad that Apple released Tuesday, the company rolled out the first Magic Keyboard Folio to go with the entry-level tablet. The new iPad accessory adds function keys — a first for Apple’s iPad keyboards.
While the iPad 10 costs much more than previous versions, starting at $449 instead of $329, if you want the detachable keyboard and stand Apple now makes for it, you have to add another $249.
That completes your basic iPad experience for a pretty penny. And the new Magic Keyboard Folio only comes in white, by the way.
These is all just one iPad case/stand. The Moft Snap Float Folio can be folded into many different configurations. Photo: Moft
The new Moft Snap Float Folio raises the bar on iPad cases that also function as stands. Literally. It can be folded to lift the the iPad screen up to 3.6 inches.
If that’s not enough, the case/strand also folds into five other configurations to allow the iPad to be used in different ways.
During our Back to Education promotion, it’s on sale for only $34.99 (regularly $42). Plus, for every CoverBuddy purchased during this event, we’ll donate 50 cents to a school or charity in need.

One of the few features an iPad Pro is missing is a handle. FlipBook Case has that handled. Photo: Pitaka
The Apple Magic Keyboard is a great way to get work done on your iPad, but it’s not a particularly secure way to transport the tablet. The Pitaka FlipBook Case wraps around the Apple Magic Keyboard and iPad Pro or iPad Air to both protect them and add a handle. It even includes a pocket.
I took the leather-and-carbon-fiber case for a spin. Here’s what I found.
Add old-world charm to your iPad and click-on keyboard with BookBook Cover. Photo: Ed Hardy/Cult of Mac
There’s no better case for giving your iPad a unique look than the Twelve South BookBook Cover — no one else is going to have a tablet that looks like something Isaac Newton might have carried. Plus, this new addition to the BookBook line has room inside for a click-on keyboard.
I tried out this tablet case to see how well it stands up in ordinary use. And to be sure there’s really room inside for an iPad keyboard.
