Movie and TV show video game tie-ins still have a pretty poor reputation dating back to the rushed-out titles that proliferated in the 1980s and 90s. Fortunately, Stranger Things hasn’t taken this as part of its meta homage to all things retro.

Having racked up more than 5 million preorders, the real-time Pokémon battle game is now ready for gamers everywhere. Complete with classic trainers like Misty and Brock.

Motion Twin’s celebrated game Dead Cells has finally landed on the App Store. In the process, it gives iPhone and iPad gamers the chance to play one of the most fun indie releases of recent times.

For the uninitiated, Dead Cells combines Castlevania-inspired side-scrolling action with some beautiful graphics and terrific gameplay. The results are an undisputed “must download.” Check out the trailer below.

After being announced way back in January 2018, Nintendo will finally release Mario Kart Tour on the iPhone next month. The gaming giant revealed the game’s September 25 launch date on Twitter.

Apple has kicked off internal testing of Apple Arcade, putting the upcoming subscription gaming service through its paces before it launches to the public.

There’s a bit of myth that’s trotted out every now and then suggesting that gaming hasn’t really taken off in the App Store in the way some people hoped.

A look at the top 10 downloaded iPhone apps worldwide for the month of April tells a different story, however. It shows that seven of the top 10 iPhone apps were games. Altogether, these were downloaded a massive 74 million times in April alone.

2019’s battle royale game Apex Legends has been a big hit for EA. In its first month available, the game broke free-to-play records for raking in cash on video games consoles and Windows.

Now the popular game could be on its way to iOS, too. In doing so, it would follow in the established big money footsteps laid out by the likes of Fortnite and PUBG.

To celebrate its birthday, its creators have given it a neat anniversary update. And thrown in a couple of videos for good measure.
