Oklahoma residents can finally leave their physical driver’s licenses at home — at least sometimes. The state is now rolling out support for adding driver’s licenses and state IDs to Apple Wallet on iPhone and Apple Watch.
Oklahoma becomes the 16th U.S. state or territory to support Apple’s digital IDs.
Arkansas residents can now add their driver’s licenses and state identification cards directly to Apple Wallet, allowing iPhone and Apple Watch users to present a digital version of their ID at supported locations across the United States.
The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration announced the rollout on Wednesday, expanding the state’s Mobile ID program that first launched in 2025. The move makes Arkansas the fifteenth U.S. state or territory to support Apple’s digital ID program.
Update: In a related note, Virginia is reportedly close to rolling out support for digital driver’s licenses and IDs.
Illinois motorists can securely add a digital driver’s license or state ID to Apple Wallet, which enables them to present their ID using their iPhone or Apple Watch. The option was announced Tuesday and becomes available on Wednesday.
That makes the Prairie State the fourteenth U.S. state or territory to support Apple’s digital ID program.
West Virginia has just become the thirteenth U.S. state or territory to support digital driver’s licenses and IDs stored in the Wallet app on iPhone or Apple Watch.

North Dakota became the latest state to let residents add a digital version of their driver’s license to their iPhone and Apple Watch. After recent additions, a total of 12 states or territories now support digital IDs.
Currently, digital IDs are most useful for travelers, as they’re widely accepted at Transportation Security Administration security checkpoints.
