Pulling out an earbud every time someone speaks gets old. Some AirPods feature Transparency mode and other features designed to let you interact with the real world while immersed in your music. But not everybody loves the effect.
Sony’s LinkBuds Open are designed to let the conversation through. They let you enjoy audio while keeping nearby people and sounds in the picture.
The key is the open-ring design. Ambient sound passes through naturally, so listening doesn’t require shutting out your surroundings. If you regularly remove an earbud when someone starts talking, that’s especially useful. Your music becomes part of the day rather than a reason to pause everything else.
For an Apple user choosing their next pair of earbuds, the Sony LinkBuds Open’s listening style is the reason to consider them over AirPods. Think about how often you want your audio alongside what’s happening around you. Working within earshot of family, or listening while keeping track of a conversation, makes for a different set of demands than wanting to disappear into an album. It’s also a safer option while out for a walk or run.

Comfortable, with high-quality audio
Sony LinkBuds Open earbuds also address the less glamorous question that matters after the first hour: comfort. The earbuds’ soft, ergonomically designed Air Fitting Supporters are built for comfortable everyday wear. That deserves some consideration when you’re choosing earbuds intended to spend extended stretches in your ears.
Inside, an 11 mm, ring-shaped driver works with Sony’s Integrated Processor V2 to deliver balanced sound, with clear performance in the mid-to-high ranges. Adaptive Volume Control automatically adjusts volume based on surrounding noise levels, giving you one fewer setting to manage as your environment changes.
Battery life reaches up to 22 hours total with the charging case. And when you inevitably discover you forgot to charge the earbuds, a three-minute power-up provides up to 60 minutes of playback.
These Sony LinkBuds Open earbuds come in new, open-box condition. This is typically excess inventory from store shelves.
