Take a glance at the App Store Top Paid Apps list and you’ll see that 7 out of 10 are games. So, if you want to CRUSH it with an iOS app…then this iOS game development course may just be your ticket.
Angry Birds, Cut The Rope, Peggle— each one is as unique as they come, but they’re tied together to one simple principle: they’re built using Cocos2D. In this course, expert Cocos2D instructor, Marin Todorov takes a hands-on approach and walks you step-by-step through the process of building a complete game.
It’s hard enough to get to that elusive “Inbox Zero” when your email program just won’t help you out. It either has too much or tries to keep you dwelling in email purgatory when you could — and should — be spending your time on better things. Things that don’t qualify as busy-work, but as actual work.
Well…this Cult of Mac Deals offer is going to be your saving grace. That’s because we’re offering an awesome minimalist email application for the Mac, Sparrow, for only $6 for a limited time!
These days, the App Store is where it’s at. And if you don’t act fast, you may miss your opportunity to learn how to build an iOS app from scratch! This deal ends tonight at Midnight PST, so make sure to check it out.
If you have a great idea for an iPhone or iPad app, the only thing that’s stopping you from getting it out there is the actual coding of the app itself. But what if you’re the “idea person” and not a coder – and you have no desire to be one? It’s a pretty extensive process, and as you’re learning how to code you could be letting valuable time slip away – not to mention the fact that someone who CAN code might beat you to the punch. And while outsourcing the coding is an option, that’s often a costly approach – and a lot of back and forth between yourself and the coder that slows the process down even more so. So…what to do?
Well, this latest offer by Cult of Mac Deals is just what you need to get your app idea from vaporware to “actualware” with absolutely no programming. Period. And for a limited time you can save 80% off the regular price to boot – as it’s only $99!
We’ve been offering a slew of Cult of Mac Deals for some time now, and now we’re offering a deal that’s going to be tough to resist… a FREE iPhone App WordPress theme.
So, why is this professional iPhone App WordPress theme free? Let’s just say it’s a token of appreciation to all of our supporters out there — because without you there is no “us”.
So you’ve got your mobile app idea and you’ve learned Objective C / Java and are ready to start coding. Now all that’s left to do is to create an elegant and inviting user interface so that people will actually use your app.
And now you’ve hit that roadblock.
Today we’re introducing you to design guru Jen Gordon as part of our newest Cult of Mac Deals offer that will help you become a mobile design rockstar – and at a savings of 61% off the normal price!
When you put off going to the gym, the results get put off as well. In some cases, they don’t even happen at all because of the delay. Bootcamps are no different — except you can see the results much faster because of how they are so jam-packed with activity. The more you put in, the better the results — but you will see results of varying degrees just by taking part in the bootcamp.
The same can be said for the Web Developer Bootcamp Bundle, which is one of our Cult of Mac Deals that ends…today. (You had to know that a deal on a course that is selling for 60% off had to end at some point, right?)
Valentine’s Day may have come and gone, but you still have a few hours left to show your Mac how much you love what it does for you with The Mac Love Bundle.

If you haven’t taken advantage of our latest Cult of Mac deal — The Mac Superbundle — you’d better hurry. You’ve only got a few hours left to pick up 10 great apps at a fraction of their regular price.
It seems as if everyone and their uncle are building iPhone apps these days. As a result, the competition is getting fiercer and fiercer by the day, and it’s becoming tougher to stand out amongst the crowd.
That said, there are a ton of apps that just don’t “cut the mustard” and the user experience suffers because of that lack of care and quality. David Sparks, the man behind the popular MacSparky blog, said the following about what he calls “speculative developers”:
If you want to develop apps, take your time and make something awesome. Make it fast. Make it beautiful. Make something you’re proud of. Don’t make 60 crappy apps: Make one really good one.
I couldn’t agree more, but when you’re faced with the haze of substandard apps that claim to be able to deliver the goods, how can a developer get their app noticed — and adopted — over the long-term?
The latest Cult of Mac Deal may have the solution to that problem.

Sometimes you wake up, and life’s just out to kick you in the junk as hard as it can. Other days, you wake up and the whole world is smiling on you.
I think this lucky S.O.B. of a Redditor qualifies in the latter category, don’t you? He found a brand new, boxed 32GB iPad 2 WiFi at his local Goodwill charity shop for only $65.
Sixty-five bucks! Amazing. That’s, like, the street value of a crappy BlackBerry Playbook or something, not a top-of-the-line tablet made by Apple. What did they nip in the coffee at the Goodwill that day, I wonder?
Every once and a while, some big box retail pricer huffs a little too much of Apple’s pixie dust and goes mad enough to start selling iTunes gift cards for less than their actual value. Ladies and gentlemen, now is just such a time of madness, as Best Buy is now selling iTunes Gift Cards for 20% off (digital delivery only). That means every $25 of iTunes credit — useable on songs, movies, Mac software, iOS apps, iBooks and in-app purchases — can be had for just $20.
That’s a pretty swank deal if you make most of your purchases in Apple’s digital ecosystem, which is most of us. Get buying here, but be fast about it: you only have until 7PM!
Best Buy is offering up a $50 Gift Card to anyone who upgrades to a new phone before the end of the year. The promo is actually a bit confusing as you have to already have an existing mobile number and you must register that number before February 12, 2012 to be eligible for the promo. Then, when you finally decide to upgrade your phone, you must upgrade using the number you registered and then you will be provided with your $50 gift card. Whew, I’m glad I got that cleared that up.
There are less than 12 hours left on our awesome deal for the Ruby programming course. Head over to Deals.CultofMac.com to check it out
What do Groupon, Twitter, Hulu, and 37 Signals all have in common? They all use the incredibly powerful, dynamic, and highly scalable programming language of Ruby or Ruby on Rails. Why is that supposed to get your heart fluttering? Because this language is the future of the web. Not being a developer myself, I shamelessly Googled to find out why Ruby on Rails is such a popular language/framework and I came across a Quora post from Ian MacLeod that sums it up nicely:
1. The Ruby community moves quickly, adopting new technologies and patterns – and refactoring or throwing out the old. Programmers love being on the cutting-edge.
2. Ruby seems to be one of those languages that maps well to a developer’s mental model. It’s frequently mentioned as one of a few languages that developers find a joy to code in.
3. Ruby is one of the major languages that promotes widespread use of “language magic” to createeasily-readable DSLs. This makes it very easy for casual developers to learn the language.
So, whether you want to start your company or just lock-in job security for the rest of your life…this tutorial is where it all starts.
With more than 27 step-by-step video lectures, this Ruby Programming course is only $79 (normally its 3x that much…and well worth it) and will teach you the ten steps to creating your first web app.
There are a couple of solutions on the market that combine simple hardware with an iOS app to take control of your entertainment system, but Peel is probably the coolest and most easy to use solution that we’ve played with. Peel invisibly controls your entire entertainment system — TV, cable box, Blu-ray player, AV receiver, Apple TV, and more — without the extra hassles of plugging stuff into your phone and dealing with network passwords. Normally the Peel system retails for $99, but for the next 3 days you can pick one up from Fab.com for only $45.
Update: We have selected a Winner and would like to CONGRATULATE Wayne Rodrigues (@waynerod10)! Way to go Mate!! Please email us at [email protected] to get your goods.
