It’s Halloween season, but prices of these two Monsters are anything but scary. With cavernous storage and solid state storage, these are two devices you can take with you free of the worry of a dying motor or a scratched disc. And at more than half off, they’re going for a price that can’t be beat.

The 128-Gig Monster Overdrive can store up to 1,280 hours of video or 49,000 photos, with lightning fast access and no moving parts. The built-in Monster Encrypt software, backed by 256-bit AES security, means your stuff is protected in something more like a safe than a cloud. Unlike a safe though, it’s compact and light, while leaving a little weight in your wallet, going for $34.99 at Cult of Mac Deals.

Coming in 32 and 64 gigabytes, this 2-pack of metal-sheathed USB storage drives are built to last.

This 2-pack of Monster’s Digital Super Speed Flash Drives is even more compact, but don’t let the size fool you. With a 64 and 32 gig USB 3.0 drives (which also come in a variety of colors), you’ll have as much storage as you’re ever likely to need to fit in your pocket. They work just as well with computers as with TVs and smart phones, and with lightning fast transfer speeds of 80 megabits per second. They’re built tough with steely metal exteriors, and they’re a steal for just $24.99.

85 MB/s … crap, like most of what Monster makes.

I ordered the two pack on Oct. 25 and got a shipped notification with tracking on the 27th. I did not get another update until yesterday, Nov. 1, finally with an estimated delivery date of Nov. 9. I did find out that USPS has a package class for sellers who have no inclination for delivering packages in a timely manner; it is called “Parcel Select Lightweight.”
