The MagSafe charging case was one of the surprise features we got when Apple rolled out the third-gen “regular” AirPods during last month’s “Unleashed” event. The normie earbuds look like AirPods Pro, with shorter, curved stems that look less dorky sticking out of your earholes. AirPods 3 look and sound great, and that MagSafe charging case got us very excited.
Well, Apple also quietly upgraded AirPods Pro to include a MagSafe charging case. So if you go to buy AirPods Pro, you should definitely look for “new” ones. The earbuds themselves remain the same (as does their $249 list price). But the magnetic case is a nice upgrade for anybody with MagSafe chargers for their Apple devices.
