Apple’s new AirPods 5 aren’t even available in stores yet, but you can already save a few bucks on them. Amazon has knocked the preorder price of the new earbuds down to $124.99.
That’s not exactly a huge discount, but considering AirPods 5 were only announced last week and don’t officially arrive in stores until Friday, it’s a surprisingly quick start for discounts on Apple’s newest earbuds.
AirPods 5: Way better wireless earbuds than before

They boast a next-generation Adaptive EQ for better sound quality, personalized Spatial Audio and an open-ear design.
Apple unveiled its latest wireless earbuds at the Surprise and Shine event, bringing a significant upgrade for Apple’s open-ear earbuds.
Active Noise Cancellation is now included on both versions, making AirPods 5 the most affordable way to get Apple’s ANC technology. Cupertino promises the new model can remove up to 50% more external noise than AirPods 4 with ANC.
Plus, the earbuds use an all-new multiport acoustic architecture along with next-generation Adaptive EQ. Apple says the combination produces richer, more detailed sound across a wider range of ear shapes.
Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking is also supported, making music, movies and other compatible content feel more immersive.
Transparency mode is designed to provide a more natural representation of nearby voices and sounds, while Adaptive Audio automatically blends ANC and Transparency mode depending on your surroundings. Conversation Awareness can also lower the volume when you start talking to someone.

AirPods 5 can also take advantage of some of the new AI features Apple is rolling out with iOS 27. When paired with a compatible iPhone, the earbuds provide hands-free access to Siri AI, including the ability to ask questions and perform actions using information from across your Apple ecosystem.
And with the earbuds, you can even respond to Siri using simple head gestures. A nod can indicate yes, while shaking your head can indicate no.
Plus, thanks to Apple Intelligence, the earbuds can translate conversations across a range of languages, letting you hear a translated version of what another person is saying.

Apple sells two versions of AirPods 5. The standard model comes with a USB-C charging case, not a wireless one. But it includes ANC and Live Translation.
It normally costs $129, but Amazon is already offering it at a small discount.

A $5 preorder discount on AirPods 5 before they even hit stores is a nice surprise, especially with the September 18 release still ahead. I’m curious whether Amazon’s price will drop further once they’re officially available.
