Want a new iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c but don’t have the dosh? If you have any smartphone that can boot up, Best Buy will be running a promotion next week where they’ll let you exchange it for $100 off a new iPhone 5c or 5s.
The iPhone 5c has barely been out for two weeks but a couple of retailers are already offering promotions on Apple’s plastic handset in hopes of getting more foot-traffic into to stores. RadioShack informed us that it will start offering the iPhone 5c for $50 starting Saturday, October 5th, matching Best Buy’s offer that was announced yesterday.
RadioShack’s discount isn’t a true price cut, but the store is giving customers a $50 gift card to use toward the price of their purchase to knock it down to 50 bucks. It’s similar to Best Buy’s iPhone 5c deal, except Best Buy’s $50 gift card can only be applied to future purchases. Like Best Buy, RadioShack’s offer is only valid when signing up for a new two-year contract, but if you want to drop the price even lower you can use RadioShack’s Trade & Save program and apply the value of your old smartphone to your new 5c.
Update: Not one to be outdone, Walmart just decided to drop the price on the iPhone 5c to $45 from now throughout the holidays.

We’re just a few days away from learning all the details (and price) of the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S, which means retailers like Best Buy are scrambling to clear all their old iPhone 5 inventory off shelves. Best Buy is taking $50 off the price of the iPhone 5, in an effort to lure new customers in.
This isn’t the first time the retailer has sold the iPhone 5 for $149, but T-Mobile customers are still out of luck, as the offer is only available to Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon customers. However, considering Apple’s about to release a newer, more colorful and cheaper variant of the iPhone 5, we’d recommend sitting out on this deal, no matter how desperate for a new iPhone you are, and wait to see what Apple announces Tuesday.

Best Buy is now offering 50% off an iPhone 5 (16G or 32G) for customers who bring in a working iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S this weekend. The retailer announced that the deal, which requires a two year activation, starts tomorrow and will last through Monday.

Samsung warned us that its Apple Store clones were on the way, and this week they’ve begun popping up in Best Buy stores across the United States. Dubbed “Samsung Experience Shops,” the locations give customers the chance to get their hands on Samsung smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other devices so that they can try them out before making a purchase.
Apple’s fifth-generation iPad will enter production between July and August, according to supply chain sources in Taiwan. The device is expected to sport a thinner, lighter design much like that of the iPad mini, with smaller bezels around its display.
Given that Samsung clearly likes to follow in Apple’s footsteps, it comes as no surprise to us that it is set to open 1,400 Apple-esque Experience Shops in Best Buy stores throughout the United States.

Depending on the zip code you live in, Walmart is offering the 16GB iPad mini Wifi-only models for $299. That’s 30 bucks cheaper than buying it directly from Apple. Walmart’s offering both standard shipping and in-store pickup depending on the availability of units in your area. For the last two years, Best Buy stores across the country have hosted a mini Apple Store within a store to bring more attention to Apple’s iMacs and MacBooks. As a point of solace from the barrage of tablets, desktop PCs, and laptops in Best Buys busy stores, the little Apple Stores give customers more time and space to play with Apple’s PC products, so Samsung has decided to take a similar approach with their mobile products.
