Samsung’s #greendontcare GIFs are the weirdest Apple diss ever

A look at some of Samsung's Apple-dissing GIFs.

Samsung seems pretty triggered (as the kids say) by people dissing its green Android text message bubbles, compared to the blue bubbles of Apple’s iMessages. So much so, in fact, that it’s created a whole bunch of animated GIFs to, err… do something?

The GIFs portray scenes like a green snake eating blue bubbles and a creepy green salamander being inappropriately touchy-feely with a distressed blue bubble. Hey, it probably sounded hilarious when it was described in the team meeting!

The GIFs are available to view on a Giphy page. They’re intended to give a tool for anyone to clap back if they’re dissed for not having an iPhone.

According to The Verge, Samsung is also reaching out to Instagram meme pages and getting them to spread the hashtag #greendontcare. Because nothing says cool indifference like creating a whole bunch of GIFs to argue your point.

This is far from the first time Samsung has dissed Apple products, of course. Samsung constantly takes shots at Apple products in its ads. Sometimes this can hilariously backfire, of course. Recently Samsung quietly deleted one of its old ads mocking Apple for ditching the headphone jack in the iPhone 7. Why? Because, as it turns out, Samsung followed Apple’s lead by leaving the 3.5mm jack out of its new Galaxy Note 10.
