Remember the bemused reaction you had to the selfie stick the first time you saw one? Remember how that feeling gradually changed to begrudging acceptance as they became standard issue over the months that followed?
Get ready for the next creation in that line of “are they kidding?” thinking: the iPhone foot mount for the person who doesn’t want pockets in their clothing. They’ll be everywhere in 2019. Maybe.
The oddball creation was shown off by high-end fashion designer John Galliano as part of his latest show in Paris. Galliano is the creative director of fashion house Maison Margiela. The shoe/iPhone holder combo is part of the fashion house’s “neo-digital” autumn/winter 2018 range.
Apparently, the phone holder can attach to a variety of different shoes, which would make it a versatile accessory. It can be seen in action in the video below.
Nonetheless, we’d be kind of surprised if this makes it as a mass-market product any time soon. After all, isn’t a bag easier if you really don’t want to put your iPhone in your pocket? But maybe we just don’t understand fashion…
