Apple Watch Series 9 sale
There’s no design difference between the Apple Watch Series 9 and its predecessors. They look the same. But internally, Apple’s latest wearable uses a faster S9 chip, which features a 30% faster GPU. This helps with smoother system animations and overall better performance.
The S9 chip also has a newer four-core Neural Engine, allowing on-device processing of common Siri commands. Besides being more secure, the watch can process commands faster. Apple claims voice typing on the Apple Watch Series 9 is 25% faster.
You also get a new double-tap gesture on the watch. This allows you to control the watch with your fingers without touching the display. Tap your index finger and thumb together twice for everyday actions like answering/ending a call, taking a photo with the Camera app, scrolling through the widgets stack, etc.
As Griffin Jones noted in his Apple Watch Series 9 review, the watch is a “surprising package of new features.”
What you don’t get with the Apple Watch Series 9 is blood oxygen monitoring. That’s due to Apple’s ongoing patent dispute with Masimo and how the Apple Watch measures blood oxygen. Apple removed its Blood Oxygen app from the watch to escape a sales ban while the legal battle between the two companies continues.
Still, that should not stop you from getting the Apple Watch Series 9, especially at such discounted prices.
