Apple and Sony have teamed up to offer six months of Apple Music free to PlayStation 5 owners. The offer is only valid for new or qualified returning users, not existing subscribers.
Apple’s music streaming now comes with a relatively short one-month trial period. So, this promotion could be a boon for users on the fence about trying Apple Music.
Your PS5 can get you free Apple Music subscription
The free six-month Apple Music access for PS5 applies to existing and new console buyers. It lasts until November 15, 2024, so you have plenty of time to redeem the offer. And if you buy a new PS5 between now and before the expiry date, you can claim the offer.
However, you must use the Apple Music app on the PlayStation 5 to get the free subscription. The app is not pre-installed on the console; you must download it from the store. It is not possible to use any other device to claim the free subscription.
Once redeemed, you can use Apple Music on any device you like. Besides Apple Music, the subscription will also provide you access to Apple Music Classical.
Sony is running the promo in almost all countries where the PS5 is on sale, including the US, Canada, Europe, India, China, and other key markets. Offer not applicable for existing users
Sadly, you cannot claim the offer if already pay for Apple’s music streaming service. But if your subscription was canceled long back, you might be eligible to redeem the promo.
This is not the first time Apple and Sony have provided free perks to their users. In July 2021, the two companies offered 6 months of free Apple TV+ to PS5 owners. Towards the end of the same year, you could get five months of free Apple Music subscription through Shazam.
