Apple previewed MixC Shenzhen Wednesday, showing off its second retail store to open in China’s third most-populous city after Shanghai and Beijing.

“We are very excited to open a beautiful new Apple Store in Shenzhen and deepen our connection with the local community,” said Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail.

“At Apple, we’re constantly innovating to deliver the best possible experience for our customers, and our incredible team members in Shenzhen can’t wait to welcome them when doors open on Friday,” she added.

Apple MixC Shenzhen opens to shoppers on Friday at 10 a.m. local time. It’s the second store to open in the city, the fourth store to open in the Guangdong province and the 55th store in the region, Apple said.

Cupertino also noted the store “will serve as an accessible and inclusive space for Apple team members to bring the best of Apple together for the local community.”

Now home to a second Apple Store, Shenzhen is also a major center of Apple production, with its two Foxconn campuses that experienced COVID-19 lockdowns at times during the pandemic.

Here’s how Apple described the bright and airy new store’s features:

The new store features a Padang Light stone floor and a timber veneer-clad wall — sustainably and locally sourced within China — that maximizes visibility within the store.

As with any Apple Store, visitors can browse Apple products and accessories with help from Apple Specialists, select financing options, and get personal technical advice as well as Genius support.

Apple Pickup station and roundtable learning space

The store features an Apple Pickup station. It helps make it easier for customers to order online and collect their devices in-store at a time that works for them.

Apple MixC Shenzhen also features a learning space. Visitors can experience Today at Apple programs in a roundtable setting for a personalized experience. Programming includes Apple-led sessions across many topics, such as photography, videography, music, coding, and art and design.

Apple ‘s first retail location in Shenzhen was Apple Holiday Plaza Shenzhen, which opened in 2012. Apple said the store has welcomed 22 million visitors to date.

A staff of 150  retail team members will work in the new store. They collectively speak 10 languages, including Chinese, Cantonese, English, Japanese, Korean, French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, and sign language.
