EcoFlow rolled out three new River 2 series power stations Tuesday. The under-1kWh devices charge to 80% as fast as 48 minutes and offer a long life, making them cost-effective for on-the-go uses like camping as well as home power backup, the company said.

EcoFlow River 2 power stations

This affordable power station series launches after EcoFlow upgraded its Delta series in September.

The River 2 series includes three models, all with lithium-ferro phosphate batteries, abbreviated as LiFePO4, or LFP: River 2, River 2 Max and River 2 Pro. They weigh as little as 7.7 pounds and cost as little as $229, in the case of the River 2.

EcoFlow said their power stations have a lifetime six times’ the industry average.

“The launch of the River 2 series underlines EcoFlow’s commitment to meaningful innovation that solves real-life problems,” said EcoFlow CEO Bruce Wang. “With an uncertain economic and environmental outlook, we want to make clean, portable energy accessible to everyone, everywhere.”

“The EcoFlow River 2 series makes this possible, offering practical, flexible and affordable energy solutions for adventures in the great outdoors or during power outages at home,” he continued.

Grab-and-go power

Yhe River 2 series recharges on average 5 times faster than comparable products on the market, thanks to EcoFlow’s X-Stream technology, the company said.

With that speed, users can charge at the last minute for spontaneous trips and the like. The River 2 model recharges from 0-80% in 48 minutes. The highest-capacity model, River 2 Pro, recharges in 70 minutes.

The River 2 series can also be charged via solar power using EcoFlow’s Portable Solar Panels. The River 2 series supports a maximum solar input of 220W.

Long life

The three River 2 series models use long-lasting LFP batteries. They last 3,000 cycles in a lifetime compared to an industry average of 500 cycles, EcoFlow said. That’s allowing for use once daily for nearly 10 years.

LFP batteries endure more extreme temperatures than other batteries, too, the company added. All EcoFlow River 2 models come with a 5-year warranty.

Pricing

Prices range from $239 for the River 2 to $599 for the 768Wh Pro model ($130 off coupon available). You can get the EcoFlow River 2 on Amazon and the River 2 Max on Amazon or in the EcoFlow Store. EcoFlow River 2 Pro will be available in late 2022.
