Apple’s online store went down Wednesday morning, a few hours ahead of the iPhone 14 event. The company typically makes its store inaccessible a few hours before any event or new hardware launch.

Besides the iPhone 14 series, Apple is expected to announce three new Apple Watch models and the AirPods Pro 2.

New iPhones, Apple Watch, and more incoming

The iPhone 14 lineup will be the highlight of the ‘Far Out’ event. Reportedly, Apple plans to replace the mini model this year in favor of a new 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus.

The gap between the Pro and non-Pro iPhones will further grow this year. Rumors indicate Apple’s latest A16 chip will only make its way inside the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. The regular models will sport an enhanced version of the A15 Bionic that’s ticking inside the iPhone 13 Pro series.

The Pro models should feature a new 48MP primary camera and an upgraded ultra-wide shooter. This could allow them to deliver better low-light imaging capabilities. Another highlight will be the new “pill and hole” setup that Apple plans to use smartly for microphone and camera indicators.

Apple’s September 7 event has a “Far Out” theme, hinting at possible satellite connectivity on the new iPhones.

All the new products should go live on Apple’s website soon after the event. Pre-orders are only expected to go live later this week.

The Cupertino giant will also reveal the public release date of iOS 16 and watchOS 9 at the event. The company has already confirmed that iPadOS 16 will ship later than usual this year. The OS should now release alongside macOS Ventura in October.

Apple’s “Far Out” event will start at 10:00 a.m. PT on September 7. The company is holding an in-person event. But you can catch all the action live on YouTube if you wish to. Or you can head over to Apple’s website to watch the live stream.
