Truecaller is rolling out a new update for its iPhone app that has been completely reworked from the ground up. The company now promises 10x better identification of spam calls.

Truecaller has never worked as reliably on iPhones as it does on Android. The company aims to finally solve this issue for good with its latest app update.

Truecaller for iPhone reworked to provide better spam call detection

Truecaller has redesigned its iOS app from the roundup to take advantage of CallKit to deliver a superior user experience. The company says it has worked closely with Apple to achieve this. It is also lighter than before, allowing it to run without any performance issues on older devices.

Once you set up Truecaller on your iPhone, you will see the Caller ID show different icons for spammers, verified businesses, Truecaller users, and searched numbers. The spam call blocking technique is much better than relying on iOS’s built-in option of silencing unknown callers.

New Truecallers users will also enjoy a more streamlined and faster onboarding experience.

Truecaller Search Action extension makes finding details about unknown callers easier

With the new Search Action extension, looking up unknown numbers through Truecaller is now easier than before. Use the Share Contact option in the Phone app to share the number with the app. It will then search the number against its database to determine who the caller is.

Truecaller Chat, Voice, and Contact Requests features have been removed from the app, as they were not being used much by iPhone users. The company’s sole focus was delivering the best possible user experience with this update.

Truecaller is also working on an improved offline SMS filtering algorithm, automatic blocking of top spam numbers, and a redesigned widget for faster search. These features will roll out with future updates.
