The Peanuts gang is about to star in their first Mother’s Day special. To Mom (and Dad), With Love will focus on Peppermint Patty, who doesn’t have a mom. Or does she?
A trailer dropped on Friday so you can get a glimpse of the troubles Charlie Brown and his friends will have celebrating this special day.
To Mom (and Dad), With Love is the first-ever Peanuts Mother’s Day special
The special will focus on a character with a non-traditional family. “While the other kids are excited to celebrate the special day, for Peppermint Patty it’s just a reminder that she didn’t grow up with a mom,” says Apple. “With her good friend Marcie by her side, she soon realizes that real families come in all shapes and sizes, and that Mother’s Day is an opportunity to thank that special person in your life who means the most to you.”
At the same time, Snoopy and Woodstock are searching for Woodstock’s long-lost mom.
To Mom (and Dad), With Love premieres on Apple TV+ Friday, May 6, just in time for Mother’s Day the following Sunday.
Apple TV+ is the home of Charlie Brown and the gang
Apple owns the rights to stream Peanuts specials. The most famous ones, including the Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Easter installments, are already available through the streaming service.
And Apple TV+ teamed up with WildBrain to produce The Snoopy Show starring Charlie Brown’s irrepressible pooch, his pal Woodstock and the rest of the gang. The Cult of Mac review calls it “stress-busting, family-friendly entertainment.” It has a 100% approval rating on the review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes.
