Our friends at MacPaw are stepping up efforts to help provide humanitarian support in Ukraine. While the horrifying Russian invasion continues, the MacPaw Development Foundation is working with partners on the ground to transport, store, and deliver as much aid as it possibly can, as quick as it possibly can.

It is hoping to raise more funds to speed up the process and provide even more — and it needs your help.

MacPaw Foundation gets to work in Ukraine

Since the MacPaw Development Foundation was launched in 2016, when it was funded exclusively by MacPaw founder Oleksandr Kosovan, it has purchased ventilators and oxygen supply systems for hospitals fighting COVID-19, acquired equipment for the Kyiv Animal Rescue Group, and lots more.

It is now turning its attention to the ongoing situation in Ukraine, which looks like it’s only going to get worse in the weeks and months ahead as Russia steps up its unjustified and unprovoked attack. And because MacPaw is based in Ukraine, it can work with local partners to provide aid as quickly as possible.

MacPaw’s plan to deliver aid

“Large humanitarian organizations like the Red Cross are currently doing everything in their power to help the civilian population in Ukraine. And while that effort is invaluable, it often takes a lot of time for the aid to actually reach people on the ground,” MacPaw points out in a post on its blog.

“What we have done is we’ve coordinated several Ukrainian companies that can each cover a different stage of the process: transporting the aid from the border, storing large amounts of it, and delivering the right kind of aid to the right locations in Ukraine.”

MacPaw also said it has found suppliers within Europe that can provide food, medicine, medical supplies, and other essential items quickly and at scale. It hopes to purchase and distribute seven truckloads of aid every single day, but to ensure that can happen smoothly, MacPaw needs financial support.

It needs your help

“While MacPaw will keep supporting the MacPaw Development Foundation, we are also raising funds to be able to provide aid at a much faster pace,” it said.

The MacPaw Development Foundation is a non-profit organization, and all proceeds go toward its charitable efforts.

“Every dollar you donate will become a slice of bread for someone who’s hungry or a dose of antibiotic for someone who’s wounded,” it said. “Your help is vital, and we can’t thank you enough for it. It’s times like these that test our ability to stay human and ease each other’s pain. And we won’t fail that test.”
