Apple TV+ earned six nominations across five series in the 2022 Writers Guild of America Awards. These honor outstanding writing in TV series.

The film nominations will be announced later in January, and Apple might pick up some additional nominations then.

2022 WGA Award nominations went to the usual Apple TV+ suspects

Apple’s streaming video service includes a couple of shows that are darlings of the television industry. These pick up accolades at almost every opportunity. So it’s no surprise that the writers of both The Morning Show and Ted Lasso are nominees for the 2022 WGA Awards, one in the drama series category and the other nomination for a comedy series.

In addition, The Morning Show episode “La Amara Vita” was signaled out for a nomination for writing in a drama.

But wait… there’s more

The 2022 WGA Award nominations for Apple TV+ series don’t stop there. The Problem With Jon Stewart, which debuted in 2021, scored one for writing in a Comedy/Variety Talk Series.

Calls was nominated in the Adapted Short Form New Media category. And in the Children’s Episodic, Long Form and Specials category,“Park Ranger Percy / Lizard Lizzy,” an episode of Helpsters, got a nod from the Writers Guild of America.

The film nominees in the 2022 WGA Awards will be announced on January 27, followed by the awards ceremony on March 22.

Watching any or all of the series that are up for these awards comes with an $4.99-per-month Apple TV+ subscription.
