The crown jewel of holiday specials is A Charlie Brown Christmas. Charles Schulz’s creation has become a part of so many family traditions since its premiere in 1965, and the only streaming service you’ll find it on is Apple TV+.

The Peanuts special finds Charlie Brown feeling down about the commercialism of Christmas, and becoming the director of the gang’s holiday play as a way to get into the holiday spirit. Can he overcome his friends’ preference for dancing over acting, find the “perfect” tree, and discover the true meaning of Christmas?

Apple TV+ lets Mariah Carey sprinkle her magic on the holiday season in her second Christmas special for the streaming service. It harks back to the classic specials of the 1970s, with plenty of glitz and star power. The centerpiece is a new Christmas song from Carey, along with a fresh version of her instant classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

The Cult of Mac review calls the new show “a short but definitely stream-worthy follow-up to last year’s charmingly chintzy special.” Last year’s was titled Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special, and it’s still available to watch in case you want maximum Mariah.

Some people celebrate the holiday season, and some people really celebrate. ‘Twas The Fight Before Christmas is a documentary about a man who hopes to throw the biggest community Christmas event America has ever seen. But Jeremy Morris’s extravagant seasonal display sparks a dispute with his neighbors that lands them all in court.

It’s Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown

Those who just can’t get enough Peanuts can watch It’s Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown, collection of holiday-themed vignettes drawn directly from Schulz’s comic strip. It was first released in 1992.

Charlie Brown is struggling to sell wreaths door to door. Can Sally’s over-the-top marketing make the business a success? And will he get the money he needs to buy the perfect gift for the Little Red-Haired Girl?

Ted Lasso — The Missing Christmas Mustache

Everyone loves Ted Lasso, and he’s here to bring some holiday silliness in Ted Lasso — The Missing Christmas Mustache. The animated Apple TV+ short is voiced by the actors from the regular show.

Christmas is almost here and Coach Lasso mysteriously loses his mustache. Oh no! His team members come together to find his missing facial hair before he has a FaceTime call with his son.

Ted Lasso — The Missing Christmas Mustache is on Apple TV+, but you can also find it in its entirety on YouTube.

Also, if you’re a fan of Apple TV+’s hit comedy, this might be a good time to watch (or rewatch) the fourth episode of the second season. The fun Christmas episode is titled “Carol of the Bells.”

Snoopy Presents: For Auld Lang Syne

Apple isn’t settling for streaming classic Christmas specials. Its first New Year’s Eve special stars the Peanuts gang and is called Snoopy Presents: For Auld Lang Syne.

Lucy puts on a New Year’s Eve party but must deal with nothing going right. Good thing Charlie Brown is there with some solid advice to help her through the crisis. The Cult of Mac review says it “pops the cork on some of that old-fashioned holiday magic that makes the Peanuts special so … special.”
