New Satechi Mac dock adds multiple Thunderbolt and USB-A ports, plus more
The Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Dock adds almost a dozen ports. And it enables high-speed data transfers over most of them.

Satechi’s just-launched Thunderbolt 4 Dock includes a whopping eleven ports, including three Thunderbolt 4 and four USB-A ports. And there’s also a range of other ports for connecting additional peripherals.

Plus, Satechi launched a pair of USB-C hubs on Wednesday.

Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Dock offers many high-speed ports

Plug Satechi’s Thunderbolt 4 Dock into the Thunderbolt port on a Mac desktop or MacBook to get access to almost a dozen more ports. That includes Gigabit Ethernet, UHS-II card readers and a 3.5mm audio jack, in addition to the already mentioned Thunderbolt and USB-A ports.

One of the USB-A ports is on the front and provides power only. The other three support USB 3.2 for data transfers up to 10 Gbps.

The hub also includes a removable AC adapter for extra external power to run high-powered peripherals.

Satechi also debuts USB-C Multiport MX Adapter

Those who don’t need the additional speed of Thunderbolt might instead be interested in one of Satechi’s new USB-C hubs.

One of them, the USB-C Multiport MX Adapter, features dual 4K HDMI ports, Gigabit Ethernet, USB-C PD charging, USB-C data, USB-A data, SD card readers, and an audio jack port — all using just a single USB-C port.

Note that not all MacBooks support dual external monitors. And one 4K screen runs at 60Hz while the other is 30Hz.
