Accessories maker Nomad rolled out a new version of its popular Base Station Mini wireless charger yesterday with MagSafe support for iPhone 12.

The upgraded charger, called Base Station Mini with Magnetic Alignment, comes along just a week after Nomad released new iPhone 12 leather skins and screen protectors.

Aside from MagSafe support, the new Mini is a lot like the well-liked original. The sleek, leather and aluminum charger retains its padded leather surface, aluminum chassis and USB-C connectivity.

Base Station Mini: Nomad’s first MagSafe item

The upgraded Base Station Mini marks the first Nomad product featuring MagSafe compatibility. So you can expect to easily stick your iPhone 12 to the magnetized charging surface, where it will line up and charge. When you’re done, it snaps off.

The Base Station Mini’s compact form factor makes it a good fit for bedside tables, desk corners, side tables and other smaller spaces you’d like to put to use.

Power for one device

The Mini offers up to 15W of wireless charging power, which is an increase over the original, released earlier this year. Of course, for an iPhone that maxes out at 7.5W.

The magnetic alignment works in tandem with the iPhone 12 lineup. But the charger handles any Qi-supported device.

The charger includes an ambient light sensor that dims LEDs at night. It comes with a USB-C power input USB-C to USB-C cable, but the USB-C power adapter is sold separately.

Price: $69.95
