Season two mixes celebrities and crime

In season two, the case Parnell investigating is the murder of the husband of her childhood friend Micah Keith, who’s now a media mogul. Parnell finds herself conflicted between pursuing justice and protecting her friend. The tagline for the upcoming season is, “Every truth has two sides.”

Keith is played by Kate Hudson who joins for the new season. She won a Golden Globe and was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Almost Famous.

Truth Be Told uses our fascination with true-crime podcasts

It follows Parnell as she reopens the murder case of a young man (Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul) she may have mistakenly helped put in prison. It garnered a 71% audience approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, though critics gave a 31% approval rating. It won an NAACP Image Award.

Watching either season of Truth Be Told requires a $4.99-per-month subscription. Along with that comes plenty more series and films, including thrillers, comedies, sci-fi, documentaries and more.
