Take Tetris and give it some rhythm and you get Tetris Beat, a fresh version of the puzzle classic. It includes music from Alison Wonderland and many other artists.

The game is coming soon to Apple Arcade.

Tetris Beat adds a new spin

The updated classic is still Tetris at its heart, with players rotating and dropping Tetriminos hoping to clear the board. But the upcoming Apple Arcade addition adds songs from Alison Wonderland, GARZA, Hannah Diamond, Octo Octa, Dauwd, CINTHIE and many more. With new tracks added every month.

And the music is more than just background. In Drop mode, players need to keep to the rhythm of the song when dropping Tetriminos. Or there’s Tap mode, in which players choose the most strategic Ghost Piece to tap in time to the beat. But there’s also Marathon mode for those who prefer the classic version.

There’ll be versions for iPhone, Mac, iPad and Apple TV, and support for external game controllers.

For more about N3TWORK‘s Tetris Beat, visit the Apple Arcade section of the App Store. But it’s not available yet — the developer will only say “coming soon.”

More classics from Apple Arcade

This isn’t the only classic game getting updated for Apple’s subscription gaming service. There’s also Angry Birds Reloaded, Alto’s Odyssey: The Lost City and Doodle God Universe. These add new characters, new levels and/or a new look. Plus other classic games were added to Apple Arcade, including Monument Valley and Fruit Ninja Classic.

All of these can be played without the hassle of in-app purchases. The gaming service bans these, along with ads and loot boxes. But the service does cost $4.99 a month. Still, Apple Arcade’s collection is about to reach 200 games.
