If you run into any issues with your new MagSafe Battery Pack, you may need to provide Apple Support with its serial number. There are a couple of quick and easy ways to find that. We’ll show you how.

The MagSafe Battery Pack is a new $99 accessory that snaps onto the back of iPhone 12 models to provide them with 1,460mAh of extra juice. It’s slim and lightweight, and unlike earlier Smart Battery Cases, it’s wireless.

Apple just started shipping its newest iPhone accessory, which requires iOS 14.7, and if you just got yours and you’ve already encountered problems, you may need to contact Apple Support and provide a serial number.

MagSafe Battery Pack: Where to find its serial number

There are two ways to find that. You can either get it from the MagSafe Battery Pack itself — it’s provided alongside the regulatory labels and charging specs beneath its magnetic ring — like in the image below.

Alternatively, if that’s a little too difficult to read, you can get it from your iPhone. Simply follow these steps:

  1. Attach your MagSafe Battery Pack to your iPhone.
  2. Open the Settings app, then tap General.
  3. Tap About, then look for MagSafe Battery Pack.

The serial number will be displayed on your iPhone’s screen.
