Oprah will interview youngest Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman on Apple TV+

Oprah Winfrey will interview National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman on her show The Oprah Conversation this Friday. The 23-year-old inaugural poet, author, and activist wrote the poem “The Hill We Climb,” delivered at the inauguration of President Biden and VP Kamala Harris.

“Amanda Gorman is a young woman who stepped into a moment in history with enormous grace and dignity,” said Winfrey in a statement. “I was enthralled by her youthful spirit from the first moment we met, and very much looked forward to hearing her unpack all that has happened to her the past few months.”

According to an Apple press release, Gorman will discuss the inspirations for her work, and introduce viewers to her mother and other important women in her life.

Coming to Apple TV+ Friday

The interview will be available to view on Apple TV+ tomorrow. Apple TV+ costs $4.99 per month, although reduced rates are also available for those on an Apple One subscription package. There is a free trial for those who have never signed up before, and a free year’s subscription if you’ve bought an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV in the last year.

The Oprah Conversation launched in 2020. This was after Oprah signed a contract to create original content for Apple in 2018. Previous guests on The Oprah Conversation has included the likes of Mariah Carey, Dolly Parton, Barack Obama, Matthew McConaughey, and others.

Apple hasn’t released viewing figures for the talk show. On IMDBThe Oprah Conversation currently holds a rating of 3.3/10, based on 162 reviews.
