Brydge has a new feature-laden keyboard case for the low-cost 10.2-inch iPad. It brings a large trackpad to this tablet. And the Brydge 10.2 Max+ offers 4-foot MIL-STD drop protection thanks to a built-in Otterbox case.
This company’s keyboards for the iPad Pro are aimed at professionals. The newest one for the low-cost iPad seems to be for younger users.
Make iPad into a rugged laptop with Brydge 10.2 Max+
Starting with iPadOS 13, Apple added robust trackpad/mouse support to all its tablets. The Brydge 10.2 Max+ is designed to take full advantage of this with what its designer calls “the largest trackpad available for the iPad.” This supports native iPadOS gestures.
This and the laptop-style keyboard are removable from the tablet. They’re attached to the iPad with hinges that are also magnetic clamps.
And Brydge’s latest clip-on keyboard is its first with a rugged Otterbox case. This wraps completely around the computer, providing MIL-STD-810G 4-foot drop protection. There’s also a loop to hold a first-generation Apple Pencil.
The Brydge 10.2 Max+ is compatible with the iPad 8 released in 2020 as well as the iPad 7 from 2019.
Brydge filmed a video to show the keyboard case in action. Watch it now.

The Brydge 10.2 Max+ is available for pre-order on the Brydge website, and is scheduled to ship in late March 2021. The cost is $129.99. That’s more affordable than the Apple Smart Keyboard for the iPad 8, which sells for $159.
