A clever trick by designers at Satechi combines an Apple Watch charger and an AirPods charger into a single small accessory. On one side is a charging mat for the wearable, but flip it over to power up the case for Apple’s wireless earbuds.
The Satechi USB-C Watch AirPods Charger debuted on Tuesday exclusively from the online Apple Store.
Satechi charger takes on Apple Watch and AirPods
It’s designed to be used on the go, at home or in the office. Plug the accessory directly into the USB-C port on a MacBook or iPad, without a cable necessary. Position one side or the other facing up, depending on which Apple device you want to charge.
“The USB-C Watch AirPods Charger boasts a sleek, aluminum body designed to complement and blend seamlessly with Apple accessories,” notes Satechi. It’s just 2.3 inches by 1.7 in. by 0.6 in., and 1.6 ounces.
Both its charging pads are active at the same time, so it’s theoretically possible to replenish both Apple accessories simultaneously. It’ll power any Apple Watch, as well as AirPods Pro or any other Apple headphones with a wireless charging case.
The Satechi USB-C Watch AirPods Charger is an Apple Store exclusive. It sells for $49.95.
Anyone who likes the idea but only needs to recharge one of Apple’s wearables is in luck. The Satechi Charging Dock for Apple Watch looks much like the dual-device model, but costs $10 less. And there’s a version just for AirPods with an even lower price.
