Say goodbye to 2020 with the help of Snoopy and his friends. Apple TV+ is now showing Happy New Year, Charlie Brown.

It’s one of many holiday specials appearing on Apple’s streaming video service, which is now the home of all things Peanuts.

Ring in 2021 with the Peanuts gang in Happy New Year, Charlie Brown

“It’s the night of Peppermint Patty’s New Year’s Eve bash, but Charlie Brown has to write a book report about War and Peace. Hoping to join the fun for a special dance with the Little Red-Haired Girl, he tries desperately to finish in time,“ reads Apple’s description.

While the best-known holiday specials starring the Peanuts gang were made in the 1960s, Charles Schulz and Bill Melendez continued to make many more on a variety of topics, from Easter to Arbor Day. The New Year one premiered in 1986.

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown is available now on Apple TV+. Unlike the beloved Christmas and Thanksgiving specials, this one will not appear on PBS. It’s only for subscribers to Apple’s streaming service.

New Peanuts holiday specials are on the way

Apple revealed in the autumn that it’s working with WildBrain’s animation studio to create a slate of brand-new specials that will find the Peanuts gang marking Mother’s Day, Earth Day and going back to school. Plus, 2020 might be the last year for this New Year’s Eve special, as Apple is making a new one.

But that’s just the start of the Peanuts fun. Apple TV+ already announced The Snoopy Show, a series starting everyone’s favorite beagle set to premier in 2021. And a second season of the Emmy-nominated Snoopy in Space is in development.
