Apple’s Online Store is down ahead of today’s “One More Thing” event. When it returns after today’s virtual event, expect to see details of various new Apple products — including the company’s first Apple Silicon Macs, the first to feature Apple in-house CPUs.

Yes, Apple could easily update its website in real time without taking it offline for a few hours. But where’s the fun and drama in that?

Apple announced the transition from Intel to Apple Silicon at this year’s WWDC, the company’s first virtual event. However, this is the first time that we’ll get to see what exactly Apple has planned for the inaugural Apple Silicon Macs.

Apple Online Store: What to expect when you’re expecting “One More Thing”

A recent Bloomberg report suggested that today’s event will feature a 13-inch MacBook Air, and 13 and 16-inch MacBook Pro. None of the new laptops will, at least according to rumor, boast any different exterior design. However, as the old adage goes, it’s inside that matter — and the chip transition is one of the biggest changes in the MacBook line in many, many years.

There are also a few other products potentially rumored for today. These include AirPods Studio over-ear headphones (although these seem likely to be pushed back), the long-awaited AirTags, and a possible new Apple TV. There’s also the faint possibility of an Apple Silicon iMac (or at least an early preview of one) and, while no-one has mentioned the possibility for months, Jon Prosser’s prediction of an AR Apple Glass headset.

In all, this historic third Apple event in three months should be a fascinating way to cap off the year. “One More Thing” kicks off at 10am PT/1pm ET. You can watch it via Apple TV, on Apple’s website, or on YouTube at the below link. As ever, we’ll be covering the action at Cult of Mac — so make sure you tune in later for news and analysis.
