Eve Cam, a smart camera made exclusively for Apple HomeKit Secure Video, is available for pre-order starting today. It will ship later this month beginning Tuesday, June 23.

The $149.95 smart camera offers a simple way for users to keep an eye on their home when they’re away, whether that’s monitoring pets or watching out for intruders.

“As we expand the Eve portfolio with home surveillance products, our pledge that what happens at home has to stay at home rings truer than ever”, said Jerome Gackel, CEO of Eve Systems, in a statement. “That’s precisely why Eve Cam has been designed from the ground up for Apple HomeKit Secure Video only.”

Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video was introduced with iOS 13. In typically Apple fashion, it is a privacy-focused feature that allows for the encrypted storage of video within Apple’s ecosystem. Using HomeKit Secure Video, users can view, share, and store video recordings for the new Eve Cam using iCloud.

If the Eve Cam detects any activity, it then alert users via Apple’s Home app. There is also an integrated motion sensor which you can rig up to other HomeKit-enabled devices. That means that you can use your Eve Camera to trigger lamps, light switches, power outlets, and more.

A single Eve camera is capable of storing up to 200 GB at no additional cost. Users are able to access 10 days of recordings from each camera without this being counted against their iCloud storage limit.

If you’re interested in Eve Cam, you can pre-order it from the Eve Store. It will be available via the Apple Online Store and Amazon starting later this month.
