New 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPads look to be gearing up for release, according to information found in pre-release database filings.

An iPad with the model identifier A2229 was added to the Eurasian Economic Commission database Monday. This iPad database filing is necessary for devices to be sold in Russia and other countries. Meanwhile, listings for models including new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros, were spotted in Chinese documentation later that day.

The Chinese documentation includes official identification by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT). One of the iPads mentioned includes the same A2229 iPad referenced in the Eurasian Economic Commission database. There are also three others, including both WiFi and Cellular models. In total, they are as follows:

11-inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi: A2228; CMIIT ID: 2019AJXXXX
11-inch iPad Pro Cellular: A2231; CMIIT ID: 2019AJXXXX
12.9-inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi: A2229; CMIIT ID: 2019AJXXXX
12.9-inch iPad Pro Cellular: A2233; CMIIT ID: 2019AJXXXX

It’s not clear exactly when these new iPad will be launching. Apple is currently suffering delays at various stages in its production line. It is also under pressure to release as many iPads as possible to account for the rise in online e-learning during school closures.

New iPads have been rumored for March, with older models getting harder to find. The refresh will reportedly include improved improved cameras, and a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor for capturing 3D data. This would allow for more advanced and more accurate augmented reality experiences.

In previous years, Apple would likely have shown off the new iPads at a March event. This year, however, the spread of coronavirus has put paid to those plans.
