Arturo Castro, a switch-hitting actor adept at both comedy and drama, will join Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the upcoming Apple TV+ drama series Mr. Corman.

Gordon-Levitt signed with Apple last September to write and play the lead character, Josh Corman, an elementary school teacher. Castro will play his roommate.

News of Castro joining the cast was first reported Tuesday by Variety magazine.

Castro comes to Apple TV+ with this star rising and fresh off his own Comedy Central sketch comedy series, Alternatinio, in which he starred, wrote and produced. He also appeared throughout the five seasons of Comedy Central’s Broad City.

On the Netflix series Narcos, he played cartel leader David Rodriguez in season three.

Castro also comes with a growing list of film credits that include the remake of Lady and the Tramp, Semper Fi and Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.

A date for the first episode of Mr. Corman has not been announced.

Apple launched its streaming service in November and is slowly growing its viewership, battling competitors like Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime.
