The new Logitech StreamCam is built to make video streamers’ lives simpler. The smart webcam captures 1080p/60 fps video and connects via USB-C. Plus, the updated Logitech Capture software — which uses artificial intelligence to automate exposure, framing and stabilization — now runs on macOS.
“StreamCam is designed for today’s creators, making it easier than ever for people to share their passion with the world,” said Delphine Donne-Crock, Logitech’s general manager of creativity and productivity, in a press release. “Video has become a primary way for people to express themselves, and we’re designing products that help people create amazing content.”
Logitech is known for creating pro-level Mac and PC productivity accessories like the MX Master 3 mouse and MX Keys Bluetooth keyboard. And its growing line of ergonomic products includes the MX Vertical mouse and the recently released Ergo K860 ergonomic keyboard.
But the Swiss company also wants to connect with the expanding world of creative types who craft DIY hits. For podcasters, gamers and indie video makers, the StreamCam promises high-quality video with some key enhancements. The company said the combo of StreamCam and Logitech Capture — currently available in beta version for macOS — “is ideal for streaming on YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Instagram, and more.”
Logitech Capture now works with Mac
The updated version of the free Logitech Capture software brings updated scene effects, live text overlays, Dark Mode and more, Logitech said.
According to the press release, the feature set also includes:
- “Facial recognition smart focus and exposure to help you look great in every video
- AI-enabled smart framing so you always remain in view
- Image stabilization to deliver smooth video
- Full HD vertical video, perfect for viewing Instagram and Facebook stories on your mobile device
- Stereo and dual-mono audio setting for recording based on your preference
- StreamCam is also supported on XSplit and Open Broadcaster Software (OBS).”
