Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet, Apple’s gamer comedy series from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphiastars Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day, has debuted on Apple TV+.
In a break from Apple’s approach with some previous shows like The Morning Show and Servant, all nine episodes of the show are available to binge-watch now. The show, which is Apple TV+’s first true comedy series, follows the makers of a fictitious MMORPG game setting out to create their first-ever game expansion.
McElhenny plays the self-absorbed creative director of the game, Ian (pronounced “Iron”) Grimm. Looking like some kind of mashup of Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey (the beard, mainly!) and 1990s gaming superstar creator John Romero, he regards himself as a creative genius on the level of Steven Spielberg and James Cameron.
The series also stars Academy Award-winner F. Murray Abraham, Danny Pudi, Imani Hakim, Charlotte Nicdao, David Hornsby, Ashly Burch and Jessie Ennis.
The first footage of the show was debuted at appearance at Ubisoft’s E3 keynote last summer. Apple also recently released its own trailer for the show.
As with all shows on Apple TV+, watching the first season of Mythic Quest requires $4.99 a month subscription. Alternatively, anyone who recently bought selected Apple devices can enjoy free access for a year. If you want to try before you buy, there’s also a one-week free subscription.
