CES 2020Those with the 10.2-inch iPad launched last year will soon have significantly more case options, thanks to announcements made today at CES 2020. Zagg unveiled a collection of three keyboard cases, while its Gear4 subsidiary added two protective cases.

Three 2019 iPad keyboard cases from Zagg

All the iPad keyboard cases this company announced today are already available for other Apple models. But that’s because Zagg offers such strong support for all Apple’s tablets.

The Zagg Slim Book Go for the 10.2-inch iPad ($99.99) will come in two parts. One is a case for the tablet with a built-in kickstand and a holder for the Apple Pencil. The other section is removable and contains a backlit keyboard that communicates with the iPadOS device over Bluetooth. It can pair with the tablet and an iPhone, and easily switch between them.

The Zagg Rugged Messenger for the 10.2-inch iPad ($99.99) also includes a keyboard but focuses more on protection than the Slim Book Go. Its maker promises “formidable layers of protection to guard your iPad against impact and corner damage with durable construction that withstands drops from up to two meters.”

The Zagg Messenger Folio for the 10.2-inch iPad ($59.99) is a more affordable option. It has a keyboard but forgoes extras like key backlights.

Release dates for these Bluetooth iPad keyboard cases were not revealed today. The timing of their announcement is mostly about catching some of the hype surrounding the Consumer Electronics Show going on now in Las Vegas.

Two Gear4 cases for the 2019 iPad

Zagg subsidiary Gear4 put its efforts into two upcoming offerings for those who want a case without a keyboard for the 2019 iPad.

The Battersea ($79.99) offers up to 8-foot drop protection and a built-in screen protector. It also features a kickstand. While it doesn’t include a keyboard, Zagg promises full compatibility with the Apple Smart Keyboard for the 10.2-inch iPad.

The Brompton ($49.99) is a protective clear case with up to 6.5-foot drop protection. It comes with a movie stand featuring three viewing angles. There’s a removable fabric folio cover.

Gear4 will release both in February.
