Disney is ready to tap into Verizon’s massive customer base to give it a massive influx of viewers for its upcoming streaming service Disney+.

Verizon revealed today that all of its customers will receive 12 months of Disney+ for free starting on November 12. The offer matches Apple’s own 12 free months offer for Apple TV+ to customers that buy a new Apple device.

Disney+ will be a one-stop-shop to stream all of Disney’s classic movies and TV shows along with content from Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic. Priced at $7 per month, Disney+’s massive catalog could be a huge weapon as it prepares to do battle against Netflix, Apple TV+, HBO Max and Peacock.

Disney+ takes aim at Apple TV+

“Giving Verizon customers an unprecedented offer and access to Disney+ on the platform of their choice is yet another example of our commitment to provide the best premium content available through key partnerships on behalf of our customers,” said Verizon Chairman and CEO Hans Vestberg in a statement.

Disney CEO Bob Iger recently stepped down from Apple’s board of directors as the two companies are set to compete in the streaming space. Apple doesn’t have nearly as much content for Apple TV+ as Disney and Netflix have, but the iPhone-maker has shown its not afraid to spend big on the shows it has in development. Production costs for some Apple TV+ series already tops the cost of Game of Thrones notoriously expensive last season.

All Verizon wireless unlimited customers, new Fios Home Internet and 5G Home Internet customers are eligible for the free 12 months of Disney+. The service will be available on on mobile devices like iPhone and iPad at launch as well as gaming consoles, smart TVs, and TV streaming boxes.
