Apple signed Fargo writer and producer Monica Beletsky to a multiyear Apple TV+ deal. She reportedly will develop a new series exclusively for the upcoming streaming service.

Beletsky is also working on two films for Hello Sunshine, the production company owned by Reese Witherspoon, who stars in Apple’s exclusive news-biz drama The Morning Show.

Apple has signed a growing list of content creators in recent months as it looks to bolster its catalog of shows and movies for TV+. However, only a handful of shows will be available when the service launches November 1.

Two of those creators, Jason Katims and Kerry Ehrin, worked alongside Beletsky on Friday Night Lights and Parenthood. Others include Alfonso Cuarón, Justin Lin and Oprah Winfrey.

Meanwhile, rival streaming services continue to make similar moves as the biggest names compete for customers.

Netflix recently coughed up to sign Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. WarnerMedia secured Star Wars producer and Lost creator J.J. Abrams.

It’s not yet clear what Beletsky will be working on for Apple, or how long the deal between the two is set to last. But this is the first overall deal of her career, according to Variety.

Apple TV+ launches November 1

Apple recently premiered two of its originals, For All Mankind and Dickinson, ahead of the Apple TV+ launch. Other titles that will be available on day one include The Morning Show and the Jason Momoa-starring sci-fi/fantasy series See.

M. Night Shyamalan’s creepy-looking Servant and Truth Be Told are also in the pipeline for later release. And Apple reportedly ordered a Ted Lasso comedy series starring Jason Sudeikis.

Apple TV+ will initially cost $4.99 a month for up to six family members. However, those who purchased a new Apple device this fall will enjoy the first year for free.
