Apple this week premiered For All Mankind at the Regency Village theater in Westwood, California, ahead of its Apple TV+ debut.
The new space drama, from Golden Globe nominee and Emmy Award winner Ronald D. Moore, will be available on November 1. It imagines a world in which the global space race never ended.
For All Mankind looks like it’s going to be one of the more interesting TV+ shows. It follows the lives of astronauts, engineers, and their families as they challenge the USSR in a race to the moon.
The show stars Wrenn Schmidt, Sarah Jones, Shantel VanShanten, and Jodi Balfour, among others.

This week’s theatrical premiere gives For All Mankind a chance at the Academy Awards. The rules of which state that a show must be publically exhibited in a Los Angeles theater to be eligible.
The rest of us will be able to enjoy the first three episodes of For All Mankind on November 1, when TV+ makes its debut in more than 100 countries. New episodes will be added weekly, every Friday.
Other Apple originals debuting on that date include The Morning Show, See, Dickinson, Little America, and Home Before Dark.
A Tuesday report revealed Apple has already ordered a second season of the show, which is now in production. Apple has also ordered Ted Lasso, a new comedy series starring Jason Sudeikis.
TV+ will cost just $4.99
Apple TV+ will offer only a handful of shows at launch — far fewer than competitors like Netflix. But it will cost just $4.99 a month for up to six family members.
Anyone who picked up a new Apple device this fall, after iPhone 11 was unveiled, will get the first year free.
Despite the small number of shows, TV+ has attracted major Hollywood stars. Jennifer Aniston, Reece Witherspoon, Steve Carrel, Jason Momoa, and Oprah are all on board.
