This show is an adaptation of the best-selling novel “Are You Sleeping” by Kathleen Barber. Truth Be Told is about a podcast team which reopens a closed murder case, inspired by NPR’s Serial podcast.

Apple description says:

“Every truth has a consequence.

“When new evidence compels podcaster Poppy Parnell (Octavia Spencer) to reopen the murder case that made her a national sensation, she comes face to face with Warren Cave (Aaron Paul), the man she may have mistakenly helped to put behind bars. Her investigation navigates urgent concerns about privacy, media and race.”

It also stars Lizzie Caplan and Elizabeth Perkins. The show is being written by Nichelle D. Tramble, whose credits include The Good Wife and Justified.

The just-released trailer reveals that Truth Be Told will debut exclusively on Apple TV+ on December 6.
