Real Call of Duty this week landed on mobile for the first time — and fans of the franchise can’t get enough. The free-to-play game has, unsurprisingly, enjoyed a spectacular start so far.

We’ve seen other Call of Duty games on mobile in the past. But they were nothing like the real thing. They didn’t offer the online multiplayer Activision’s franchise has become so famous for.

Call of Duty: Mobile fixes that. It has everything you could want in a handheld CoD, including various multiplayer modes and its very own battle royale. And millions want to get in on the action.

Call of Duty: Mobile rockets to the top

35 million to be exact. That’s how many times CoD: Mobile has been downloaded across Android and iOS since making its debut earlier this week, Activision confirmed today.

It surpassed that figure faster than any other first- or third-person action game on the App Store and Google Play. It has also topped the App Store download charts in more than 100 countries.

“The response from fans across both Android and iOS has been amazing,” Activision president Rob Kostich.

“This is an incredibly fun experience, and we’re only getting started. There is a ton more to look forward to as we release more content and updates.”

Multiplayer, battle royale and more

CoD: Mobile boasts high-definition visuals and immersive audio, fan-favorite multiplayer modes like Team Deathmatch and Free For All, and iconic CoD maps — including Nuketown.

There’s a large catalog of weapons, perks, items, and more to unlock. You can also compete in ranked matches for a more competitive experience.

Call of Duty: Mobile is completely free-to-play, and although there are in-app purchases, they’re not necessary. Download the game from the App Store today to find out what all the fuss is about.
