Oprah’s Book Club has landed in Apple Books, connecting readers worldwide to “stories that truly matter by today’s most thought-provoking authors.”

Its arrival comes weeks before Oprah’s new TV show kicks off on Apple TV+. A new episode will air every two months, and every title selected will be available from Apple Books.

The Water Dancer by Ta-Nehisi Coates is Winfrey’s first selection, and you can preorder it now in ebook and audiobook formats ahead of its debut tomorrow, September 24.

Apple and Winfrey have partnered up with a mission to build the world’s biggest book club. It hopes to “transport and transform” readers with opportunities for self-discovery through reading.

Winfrey announced the return of Oprah’s Book Club at WWDC back in June, when Apple first unveiled Apple TV+. But the show is only half of it.

Oprah’s Book Club comes to Apple Books

Oprah’s Book Club also has a home in Apple Books. Shoppers can use it to find Winfrey’s latest selection, along with more information and a free sample.

Shoppers will also be able to browse previous selections and use the new Reading Goals feature to more easily make reading a daily habit.

Every time an Oprah’s Book Club selection is sold, Apple will make a contribution to the American Library Association. It will help to support local libraries and fund reading programs.

‘It’s our honor,’ Cook says

“Few people in the world can bring us together like Oprah, whose compassion and grace celebrating the power of books are unmatched,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook.

“It’s our honor to provide a new platform for Oprah’s Book Club and support the American Library Association in opening hearts and minds to the joy of reading.”

“I am who I am today because of the experience of learning to read at an early age. Reading opened up a whole world for me beyond the red dirt road and my grandmother’s porch in Mississippi,” said Oprah Winfrey.

“I want to do that for everybody. And the opportunity to do this with Apple, to speak to people all over the world about the pleasures, the excitement, the tension, the drama that a good book can bring you … I don’t know what’s better than that.”

Oprah’s Book Club hits Apple TV+ in November

Oprah’s Book Club will be streaming exclusively on Apple TV+ starting November 1.

Winfrey will interview Coates about The Water Dancer for the first episode. It is filmed in front of a live audience at Apple Carnegie Library in Washington.
