Database exposes loads of incoming Apple products

While not a literal crystal ball for seeing the future, the EEC database gets close when it comes to Apple products.

Multiple new MacBook, Apple Watch, iPod touch and iPhone models are coming this fall, according to a database that’s so far been very accurate about upcoming products. It belongs to the Eurasian Economic Commission, which become a gold mine for information on Apple computers that are right around the corner.

More MacBooks on the way

The database lists 11 products described as “portable personal computers” that run macOS Catalina.

The newest model numbers are A1466, A1932, A1989 and A1990. The EEC already added entries for MacBooks with model numbers A2141, A2147, A2158, A2159, A2179, A2182 and A2251.

Each of these isn’t going to be a different macOS laptop. These are variations of three or four models. At least one could be the much-rumored 16-inch MacBook Pro.

Get ready for Apple Watch Series 5

The Eurasian Economic Commission lists 12 model numbers of wearables running watchOS 6. These are clearly the Apple Watch Series 5 devices that could launch next month.

They are A1858, A1859, A1975, A1976, A1977, A1978, A2007, A2008, A2092, A2093, A2156 and A2157. Again, rather than a dozen different models, this is likely a range of configurations for three or four individual Apple Watches.

At this point, we know surprisingly little about Apple Watch Series 5, other than it might come in ceramic and titanium casings.

New iPod touch?

Similarly, the first suggestion that Apple plans to release one or more new iPod touch models comes from the EEC database.

It lists A1574 and A2178 as “media players” that run iOS 13. That seems like a description of Apple’s handheld computers, like the iPod touch that launched in the spring.

And the iPhone 11, of course

Rumors about the iPhone 11 have been circulating for months, to the point where we almost certainly know nearly everything about the devices.

So the fact that this Eurasian database now lists more than two dozen model numbers for smartphones running iOS 13 shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Don’t forget about future iPads

The Eurasian Economic Commission previously revealed that Apple is prepping a selection of fresh iPads. Over the summer, model numbers for a range of “Tablet computers of the trademark ‘Apple’” appeared. Among these will probably be the rumored 10.2-inch iPad.

The EEC holds sway in several countries, including Russia, Belarus and Armenia. Entries in its product database already gave us early looks at Apple devices, like the iPads that launched this spring.

In the past, devices generally debuted a few months after appearing on the agency’s website. So all these newly listed Apple models should land well before the end of the year.
