The 2019 version of the iPhone XR will likely come in two new color options.
Leaked details of the new colors surfaced last week revealing that Apple will opt for Green and Lavender instead of coral and blue. Today we’ve got our first glimpse of what the new colors will look like thanks to some photos of leaked colored glass pieces for the rear casings.
The green one looks especially great:
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman tweeted the photo above, seeming to confirm Macotakara’s report of the new color. The (PRODUCT)Red color option will also reportedly be available, though glass for it isn’t shown in the photo.
Apple could still change its mind on the color lineup, but production on the new units should start within the next few month. Production moldings of the new 2019 iPhones have already started popping up revealing some big changes in the design.
Although the glass looks more frosted and less vibrant than the current iPhone XR models, there will likely be a diffusive layer of color behind the glass to make it more colorful. The glass back makes the hues glossier.
Apple is expected to unveil the 2019 iPhone XR—probably with a different name than that—this fall. Other rumored features are expected to include a two-lens rear camera, improved selfie-cam, faster processor and much more.
